Product Notifications

Hi all!

 

was just wondering... how do the Product Notifications actualy work. They don't seem to be doing much on my store. if i choose to be notified i don;t recieve any emails etc if i change the price or description or anything.

 

Can any one explain how this works?

You got me I wish I did know how it works.

I was hopping it would give me a list of my products so i could pick one and send out a products notification for it but I guess it does not do anything from what I can see.

 

Anyone that does know can ya help us out ......

actually i found out that this is exactly how it works.

 

you use it through the newsletter module in admin.

I got that part but you can't send a e mail to just the people that are looking to info on just that one product ..

i think you can... but really haven't spent much time on it.

Use the Admin -> Tools -> Newsletters

 

You change the "newsletter type" to product_notification and follow the procedure of typing the product update just as you would a newsletter. Then click send -- you will see that you can select the product/s for which the notificaiton is pertinent.

 

Yes it is a little clumsy, but after you use this once or twice it really does work very well.

Can this be changed to Catagory notification? If this can how can this be done.
