dsather Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 I set up the shopping cart, and am adding products, and will modify the css code when I get to it, but I am having trouble with a basic function which takes precedence over the minor design issues. Is it a requirement on this shopping cart to have a ssl? I have purchased one for the domain, but it is not installed as of yet. However, right now, when I try to purchase something from the shopping cart, it either goes to a blank page (in IE) or gives me an alert message that the transmission has been ended by the server (Mozilla). Somebody told me that if I had the ssl installed, then it would solve these problems. Is that true or is it another issue? The shopping cart works fine until you get to the check out, and when you try to check out, it just does not work. This is the site that I am working on... As I said, I am just starting, and have never done this before. http://swanpicturehangers.com/catalog/
digi Posted July 26, 2004 Posted July 26, 2004 OSC does not need to have SSL in order to work, as for your blank pages your getting, it looks like you dont have the payment gateway settings correctly setup as I had the same issue back when I was starting my first OSC shop. also a good reference site to checkout is wiki.oscommerce.com/docs for any future mods you want to do to your shop. hth digi *Outlined in chalk everone looks the same* Currently useing OSC 2.2 MS1 running on Apache/1.3.27 (Unix) (Red-Hat/Linux) mod_jk/1.2.0 mod_perl/1.26 PHP/4.3.3 FrontPage/5.0.2 mod_ssl/2.8.12 OpenSSL/0.9.6b
dsather Posted July 26, 2004 Author Posted July 26, 2004 so where do I do that??? I go into the modules for the payment processors, and have the ones checked off that I am using, and there does not seem to be anything else left to configure on it. One other issue that I have seen that does the same thing, is on the main page, when you try to log in, it does the same thing, or to create an account... And the My Account link... All the same.
dsather Posted July 26, 2004 Author Posted July 26, 2004 My SSL certificate came through, and my hosting installed it, and now things work!
