Multiple Templates in one store?

Hi There,

 

I'm wondering if anybody can give me some advice or their experience in trying to add independent layouts/templates to categories? I'm searching around but haven't found anything specific.

 

From the forums it looks like I could add a template variable to the end of all product calls(?) which doesn't seem like it will work very well or that STS might have the feature (going to test it out this evening) but I would love to have someone point me at any solutions they use or could recommend.

Hi,

 

I was just wondering if you ever came up with a solution since we are trying to do the same thing. I thought of doing different stores on the same site, but don't know how to make them share the same cart.... So maybe multiple templates would be better.

I did eventually dig up a solution here. STS 3.0 appears to have this functionality in it's stock config but I haven't tried it out as of yet.
