Guest Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 this may seem a silly question, but I've installed the shop and configured the mysql etc. I'm now trying to view what the end user'd see when they visit my website. All I'm getting when I visit my catalog directory is the install routine, and i'm unsure where I should even be looking. Any ideas? Thanks.
AlanR Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 You mean you go to yoursite/catalog and you get the installer again even though you thought you'd been through with it? If that's the case it means the catalog configure.php file didn't get saved. Recheck the permissions on the 2 configure files again and rerun the installer. Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)
Guest Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Don't mean to be thick but: Yes the installer is still there when I thought it'd automatically delete it or re-direct to somewhere new. is the config.php or whatever it's called get generated and saved automatically or do I need to ftp it? Now I've taken a few hours uploading stock to test, have I wasted my time? can I back up the mysql file? will it work like that? What do i need to check with my permissions? Regards,
user99999999 Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Hi, I dont know what version you tried or what server your on or basically I know nothing. I would just forget the install thing. Get an FTP program SmartFTP, CuteFTP, ETC. delete install dir. (Like it says in the directions) password protect admin dir. (Like it says in the directions) Edit and FTP your configure.php files in catalog/includes and catalog/admin/includes Use phpMyAdmin :D
