Serious time lag in page loads

We have the oscommerce 2.2 on mysql and apache as recommended and I am finding it is severely slow on page loads. I have compared the speed to other oscommerce sites and it appears it is something with our setup.

 

Not only is it looking up products but just everything. It is hosted on some redhat server somewhere that i don't have direct control over. I have to talk to the guys that set up the hosting to do any changes.

 

I would like to know if there are any optimizations that can be done to make it work faster. our customers are also getting frustrated by the speed.

How about providing a link so that we can see for ourselves? My osC store loads VERY fast (WWW button below links to it)

 

There can be many reasons for a slow load - large or many graphics, too many database queries, slow connection, abuser on a shared host, etc., etc.

 

It is unlikely that any server optimizations are needed.
