PseudoRandom Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Hello everyone. I currently have a university assignment in which I must create a dynamic website in ASP, using a Microsoft Access database. The site in question (a hypothetical organisation), requires that a basic online store be included (ie. no functionality whatsoever, it just has to fake the sales). My lecturer and tutors are asking for us to include a "wow" factor to help us get marks, though. I have seen OSCommerce, both inside and out, and I think it is an excellent system. I was thinking of using OSCommerce as my wow factor. Of course, I would not be taking credit for it, all the copyrights etc. would remain in place. The problem for me is that OSCommerce is written in PHP, and our assignment limits us to the use of ASP. 1) Is there already an ASP version of OSCommerce? 2) If not, is it possible that I could try to make an ASP version (using something like ASP2PHP), without breaking any copyright laws? 3) Would it be hard to move everything across from a MySQL database to an Access database? I have no wish to break any copyright laws, or anything else. I just thought that if this was an easy enough solution, I might consider it. Thanks in advance everyone.
Guest Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 you are in the wrong place if you are wanting to use asp and access if you want to modify the code in time for your assignment to be turned in prior to the end of the semester, i hope you started a year ago . . . so with that in mind . .. . as far as data conversion from mysql to access and back and forth, etc piee of cake. code is another story
