Can OsCommerce be used to sell software? As in you login you pay and once paid you get a download screen.

yes, oscommerce handles pay per download.

so once they pay for it, they get an email to where they can download it, which will only be valid for X amount of days.

Does anyone know of a module that will dispense software activation codes when the software is sold?

Thanks,

Chris

Thanks a lot,

There's a mod in the contributions section for this but at first glance it only seems to offer one serial set. By this I mean, 1 type of serial for all products. It's a good start but needs someone with coding experience to take it further.

I might be able to give you a hand here, how do you plan on the codes be genereated? would you insert them all into the database and it will take one at a time?

or do you have a generator that would be linked up?

Hi there, thanks for your reply - yes, they would be inserted into the database and used one at a time - would need to be able to administer them through the admin tool, as opposed to directly on the database (my clients is not that tech savvy).

I found this addon, but it appears there is no admin interface:

Do you know of another that may help?

Thanks again,
