How to put both thumbnail picture and big picture

Hello, I was wondering how to put thumbnail small picture for gallery (whetver size the thumb is it will be on product_listing.php and when the pop op with the big image opens it will be a big image.

 

I was looking in the contributions and saw many, my question is what is most popular and mostly used?

 

I already have changed many of my php files, so im looking for a contribution that teaches how to edit each file instead of just a replacement of files.
