Not passing CAN value to Paypal

I have the Default currency set to CAN, the paypal account to accept CAN and yet Paypal seems to convert the order to USD>

 

Also I have never been able to "Update Currencies" through the admin section, have always received this error message

 

Everything seems ok until I hit the confirm payment button and enter the paypay site which has converted my default currency (CAN) to US dollars.

 

I have never been sucessful with the "Update Currency" in the admin section. Have always gotten the following errors

 

Warning: The primary exchange rate server (oanda) failed for Canadian (CAN) - trying the secondary exchange rate server.

Error: The exchange rate for Canadian (CAN) was not updated via xe. Is it a valid currency code?

if you would take the time to go to the oanda web site, you will find the code necessary for Canada is CAD and not CAN then the update should work.

 

you will also find the EUR and the USD . .. once you have CAD working the others will (should) work properly
