Guest Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 here is the site i'm working on: http://newmexicanconnection.com/shop and i would like to charge shipping based on the total price of the order... i did go to my admin controls and looked shipping modules and found the table rate option which i think is the one i need to use. basically the store sell can jar items. a lot are heavy and require special care like bubble wrap and padding so it doesn't break. i just want the the shipping charges to be as follows: TOTAL PRICE of items ordered / SHIPPING COST $30-50 / $15 $50-100 / $30 $100-150 / $50 $150-200 / $70 $200-250 / $90 THEN CALL IN FOR LARGER ORDERS FOR SHIPPING PRICE. does anyone know how to do this? i tried both "Table Method The shipping cost is based on the order total or the total weight of the items ordered. *weight *price" and it didn't work the way i have in mind. i do have a ups account but doing it by weight that way is complicated and i want to simplify the shipping cost to total purchase price. please help me with this. thank you, macie Quote
Guest Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 well...finally...i just gave up on someone logging into the forums to offer assistance to people stranded... i was searching through all the postings in this category and found nothing relating to my situation really... so i went to the bug section in the contributions and read up on a few things...then went to the contributions and found this one: Percent Rate x total sale price FIX thank you so much for it b/c it's a godsend and I've opted to use it for my cart. Basicially I just use a flat rate of 40% because that comes the closest to my original plan to charge people by the total amount they spend because some of the items i send are heavy can and glass goods--so extra care/handling is needed to prevent breakage during shipment. anyways...i hope someone in the same situation as me will just utilize the contribution i loaded and tweak it a bit to work. if i waited for someone to tell me how to fix the table rate for total shipping cost in the default osc 2.2...i doubt that my store would be open by my birthday which is in october :) usually i thank the person who helped me...now this time: "thanks to me i guess...haha..." goodluck to everyon in this department. adieu, macie Quote
