Macintosh to Windows OS

Hi There,

 

Hope I'm in right section for someone to help.

 

I have an Apple Mac Laptop and wants to install a Windows or Linux operating system instead on it.

Is this possible without using Os coversions like "Windows XP for Macintosh" ?

I would like to format the hard drive and install Window or Linux on it.

 

Would the hardware be compatible?

Are there any solutions for this problem.

but, in my mind, it's not possible since the hardware is not a x86 based.

You want to try Virtual PC and install either OS on it.
