pabloron Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 One of my customers received the following message: The first four digits of the number entered are: 4656 If that number is correct, we do not accept that type of credit card. If it is wrong, please try again. She said that her card does indeed begin with 4656, but that it's a valid visa card. Anybody run into this in the past or have any insight as to why the CC validation function won't let this card through? Thanks, Paul
digi Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 Yes, my debit card starts with a 4656... never heard of a visa starting with this number, I have had really "dumb" people come to my shop saying they have/got this when they really havent, so this person might be confused with another card... as my debit card has a visa logo on the back for some strange reason. *Outlined in chalk everone looks the same* Currently useing OSC 2.2 MS1 running on Apache/1.3.27 (Unix) (Red-Hat/Linux) mod_jk/1.2.0 mod_perl/1.26 PHP/4.3.3 FrontPage/5.0.2 mod_ssl/2.8.12 OpenSSL/0.9.6b
Guest Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 most debit cards nowadays are where they have the mc/visa logo on them, some online merchant accounts do not let them purchase online though.
pabloron Posted July 21, 2004 Author Posted July 21, 2004 I've been doing some more research on this issue - it looks like this is a known bug in OSC with the credit card validation script - http://www.oscommerce.com/community/bugs,1609 If anyone has any insight on the fix (it looks like it is still unresolved in the bugs section), I'd appreciate what it is. Thanks Paul
carrja99 Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 Was this ever fixed!? Suddenly, ALOT of our visitors are running into this problem, 20 emails over the weekend on it. I searched through the cc_validation class, but I really didn't find anything I could change to resolve this (as the regex for the visa cards looks as if it should match anything beginning with a 4 and containing 15 digits...
edtiger Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 looks like the cvs has been fixed, but how do I bring a ms2.2 up to snuff?
