set up oscommerce in my computer

i am looking to setup oscommerce in my own computer

and then doing the customization and adding the catalog items

after that i will port the whole thing to a webhost

 

How to port the whole thing to a webhost?

after i setup the os-commerce in the webhost

Which files should i over-write?

which files i should not over-write?

If i just over-write the whole mysql database, would it work?

 

 

in my own computer, i am using Appserv

for the webhost , the control panel has auto-setup os-commerce function

 

 

Both of them have auto setup os-commerce function

However, i think its better for me to setup os-commerce manually, so that i can be sure they are of the same version number, right? :lol:

you should read the knowledge base, if you are just thinking of doing / working with osCommerce, many of your questions can be answered there.

 

you will need to become familiar with php, mysql, ftp, etc.

 

read thouroughly and you will see what is required
