Andrew J Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 Last week I restored back my site from the state of death. Since this happened my index page wont load completely. After I opened the shop in a new window it stops to load the index page: If I hit the browsers refresh button 4-5 times the index page will load entirely: Here is My Webpage. Its hungarian but I think its no matter. Andrew
kngrnr Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 it seems like a hosting issue to me bec i took alook at the code and its stoping in the middle of a </table> tag i cant think of any reason to do that. maybe your hosting company could help you with that bec it doesnt seem like a php issue. K Groner
Andrew J Posted July 22, 2004 Author Posted July 22, 2004 My hosting company said that there is nothing wrong with the server. They said that I did something that caused this problem. Any other idea?
Guest Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 try to put a generic index.php page there, if it works, then your backup is corrupted, if it doesnt work then the server has problems
Andrew J Posted July 22, 2004 Author Posted July 22, 2004 What does it means "generic" index.php? The original one from the default OsC intall? Im not native english. :D
Guest Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 yes, the original from osc, do you have one of your index.php pages saved on your local system? i always keep complete copies of my customers locally, even tho i back them up 3 times daily on my web servers, so the odds of corruption are next to none.
kngrnr Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 it seems to me that the issue has to be the server bec. its stopping in the middle of a tag. and when you load the page a few times it works and then it stays working. so i think that it has something to do with it timing out. K Groner

I back up weekly to my computer here at home. Do you have some script to do this 3 times daily or by yourself, manually?

What is "bec."? So the hosting company should do something to change some variables or setting to avoid time out?
kngrnr Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 Bec is shorthand for because Im not saying that that is definitely the reason. But I cant think of anything else K Groner
Guest Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 first thing to do is still put a copy of the index.php file from a clean download of osCommerce, this will prove to YOU that it isnt your file, and will make it easier to convince your host. just help them out in the troubleshooting if you want to get this resolved, posting and reading here without doing isnt getting you anywhere at all, and it only takes 20 seconds to backup the current one and copy up a new one.
