Nintendude Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 Hey Guys, I'm having an issue when i send an email or a newsletter to my customers using HTML, all they see is the HTML Coding and not displaying the email the way it was ment to be seen. I have checked in the configuration and Send emails in HTML Format is set to true. Any ideas how to remedy this problem? Thanks in advance. Sid Please help so I can finish this already!!
winstanley_john Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 The email client might not parse HTML correctly. Send the same email to hotmail or outlook... http://spaces.msn.com/members/JohnWinstanley/ http://www.angelsolutions.co.uk
Guest Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 I kind of have the same problem. I have an email all crafted and ready to go but when it's sent to a hotmail accout, nothing is displayed. Outlook and gmail all receive the email OK, images and all. Any idea why something like this is happening.
Guest Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 I've found out that viewing emails sent out by osC with images embedded in 'em don't show up. They just show up as Xs. Any ideas on why this could be happening?
cyberphool Posted August 2, 2004 Posted August 2, 2004 If you can see the newsletter, try to right click on an image and see what the source is *supposed* to be. I am guessing that the path to the image will be something like "/images/test.gif" or similar. What you need to do is make this page ABSOLUTE. That means adding the full URL of your site to the link. In the example above it might look something like: "http://www.myshopp.com/images/test.gif" - David
Guest Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 I am having similar problem. OsC is sending the mail but I recive it like this in outlook. X-Mailer: osCommerce bulk mailer Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Qmail-Scanner-Message-ID: <[email protected]> <P align=3Dcenter><STRONG><FONT color=3D#ff3300 size=3D5><STRIKE>Espen</STR= IKE></FONT></STRONG></P> (it looks like it is adding some code, should this be happening?) Can any one help. Espen
redspark Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 Hi, Search through your entire site and change mime_text into mime_html (where you want to use html). It worked for me :D
Guest Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 "check entire site"... Which files in particular???????? ;) Thanks Buddy!.....My newsletter "preview" & product notification both don't show the email formatted in html correctly...(although the test mails I sent to Outlook looks fine). Any help...I'd appreciate. By the way...does anybody know of any "LEGITIMATE" source/company that sells or rents opt-in emails lists...instead of paying for a service? Seems that Bulletmail changed its name or went out of Biz. Thanks folks! Rick.............
