nwn Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 During installation, installer hangs without indicating what is wrong. See post 101434 for details. Really need to know what to look for. Scott Owner, NewWays
Guest Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 you need to give a bit more detail on what it is you are doing rather than pointing people around to different places. what is your setting when doing the installation? are you installing locally on your system or on a web server? are you using localhost for the definition or are you trying to use your ip address or domain name in the setting? and your database, is one created with a username and password?
nwn Posted July 19, 2004 Author Posted July 19, 2004 I'm trying to install OSCommerce on a local development Intranet.I have created a database and dba in MYSQL, but when I continue from the end of Step 2 I seem to get an error. Unfortunately the page does not display properly so I get the message"Database Import" and nothing else. I have tried forcing an error by adding an incorrect DB server name etc and get the same result. So I assume it is trying to display an error. I can run the create db script from within phpmyadmin so I assume that my DBA has the correct rights. Any ideas why the page isn't displaying? PS I haven't installed any PHP modules other than the default ones installed by Mandrake 10. Was in the original post. I have the same thing, though I have not tried phpmyadmin. I can use other applications against teh database. Scott Owner, NewWays
