Guest Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 Hello, Here are the shipping charges I would like for my store: Collectables: $3.00 Accessories: $6.00 Apparel: $10.00 Shoes: $12.00 In order to accomplish this, I selected Table rate, and selected weight. I then entered this: 1:3.00,2:6.00,3:10.00,4:12.00. I then created a test product in each category. For a collectable, I entered Product Weight: 1.00, for an Accessory, I entered Product Weight: 2.00, etc. I then added a collectable to my cart, and checked out. My hope was that the shipping would display as $3.00. Instead, it says $0.00. It says this for every test item I tried. What is wrong? I just want a way for the correct shipping to display for each of these product categories on checkout, and I thought table rate by weight would be the best solution. Can anyone help me? Thank you! -Joe
davea0511 Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 There's a module for per-product shipping: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,367/page,5 Next time, please look in the user contributed modules for a solution before you bend everyone's ear. Another option is to use the Table rate like you're trying, but I think your last entry has to be something like [99:1!] (but without the brackets). I'm not sure about that, but you might want to give it a try. You do know that with the Table rate it tells the customer how many pounds are shipping don't you? with your current setup it would tell them that two blouses and a pair of shoes weigh 10 pounds (3+3+4=10). They might think it's made from chain mail.
Guest Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 I could use per-product shipping, but I rather have it be automated. I might just end up going with that, since it doesn't look like this is going to work. With the table rate, are you saying I should enter this?: 1:3.00,2:6.00,3:10.00,4:12.00,99:1! And I set it not to display weight, so that is not a problem. -Joe P.S. Bend everyone's ear?
