During install I get this error on step 3

SQL file does not exist: /install/oscommerce.sql

Attempting install of osc2.2ms2

OS= Win98se

Webserver= SAMBAR 6.01P

MySQL=4.0.0d (c:\mysql)

PHP= 4.3.8 (c:\php)

Php is working per PHPINFO.PHP

MySQL is working per WinMySQLAdmin

Here's the setup

I have vhosts located at d:\docs\site1 and d:\docs\site2 both working

I have done the following

Copied the catalog folder to d:\docs\site1\catalog

configured the server for PHP use

start the osc install by http://www.rgtest1.com/catalog/install/install.php

install page opens and steps 1 and 2 are completed

when step 3 opens Thats where the error comes in..

I copied the oscommerce.sql file to just about ALL folders now and the step 3 page still can't find it.

Printing the value of the $dir_FS_www_root var displays correctly a "\"

Thanks for any help

are you running your own dns for your rqtest1.com web? usually on a localhost, you need to do it as http://localhost.

you do not need to copy your oscommerce.sql file anywhere other than the normal location of where it is, in the install directory.

thus, it is in how you are setting up during the installation, use localhost for the system location, if you can do screen shots of what you are doing during each of the steps will help

Well, actually I tried that too!.

OK, I now have started with a clean slate!

This is my test server, so I removed the vhosts including their entries in the server

copied a NEW copy (Unaltered) of the catalog folder to d:\docs\catalog

launched http://localhost/catalog/install/install.php

and I get the same thing..... steps 1 and 2 are OK, step 3 fails with the error

SQL file does not exist: /install/oscommerce.sql

but should it not be looking in

/catalog/install/oscommerce.sql

OK that didn't work either... so now I've copied all file and folders from \catalog to

the root of the docs ie d:\docs\"files and folders from catalog"

I've put a junk.htm file in the root as well just to test my mapping in the server

and http://local/junk.htm works fine !!!

I can give you access to the server if needed, just let me know how ... telnet, PCAnywhere, etc.

Thanks

Randy
