'fatal error' when I go to admin panel URl

Hi there, I have just installed osCommerce and whenever i go to the admin panel URl i get the fllowing message:

 

Fatal error: Cannot re-assign $this in /home/b34ch3r/public_html/oscommerce/catalog/admin/includes/classes/upload.php on line 31

 

What exactly have I done wrong and how can I resolve this issue?

no worries, searched on google and found it was something to do with php5.
