Design Changes

I didn't really want to start four new topics, so I combined them, hope that's okay.

 

1. I'd like to add the shopping cart in the header (logo on the left and the shopping cart on the right), is this possible? Not in an infobox or it can be, but I wouldn't want it to look like one. Maybe just a border around it?

 

2. I just added the Center Shop contribution and now I have a border around the store that I'd like to change the colors. I couldn't find that info to change it.

 

3. Now that my store is centered, my right/left columns do not line up with the header nav bar (they probably didn't before, but now it's noticeable and I'm not sure I like it). I'd like them to match along the outside edges AND get rid of the space between the infoboxes and the header nav bar. The stylesheet doesn't seem to say where they are actually placed, just the font, color, etc.

 

4. Is there a way to add any and all infoboxes in the middle column? i.e., say, Tell a Friend or even the login infobox? I'm not sure what I want to put there and wanted to pick and choose from all infoboxes.

 

These are such hard things to search for on the forums. I found so much information in the new knowledge base--which are absolutely marvelous, by the way.

(1) I've contemplated doing the same, just seemed like a pain to move it an inch or 2. ;) Sure, you can move it though. You can do a require/include in the header wherever you want the box to appear, then change the style of the box to your liking or you can cut the code and mvoe it the header. (would have to be modified proeprly though). I don't have one of those 'cut and paste this' answers for you on it though.

(2 and 3) I don't know anything about that contribution but typically style changes are made in /catalog/stylesheet.css You're probably better off hitting the support thread for this mod and checking there for the answer.

 

(4) Sure, again, put the boxes wherever you'd like using the reuire/include statements as are found in /catalog/includes/column_left/right.php Some code mods may be needed but it's typically pretty easy to do.

I swear I searched the contributions for a cart in a header and came up with nothing. Probably didn't use the right terms. D'uh! <Blush>

 

I'll work on #1 for a while and then tackle the others. I'm going to look at each of these contributions and see which is better or easier to do.

 

I know that I looked and looked at my stylesheet and there's nothing about the border of the entire store, but I'll check out some threads about the Center Shop contribution.
