PayPal orders logging without confirmation

Hi all,

 

I realize that if a PayPal customer does not click continue the order will not log in our admin..

 

I am aware of the IPN contributions.. but I have at this point already launched the site - I did not realize how many would not actually click continue..

 

I don't want to take the chance of installing any mods and have the site not functioning if I don't get the install right ..

 

Is there a simple way to have the PayPal orders log in the admin whether they completed payment or not and I can confirm it manually?

We're having this same problem. When a customer does not click the "click here to continue" link after submitting their Paypal payment, their order isn't logged in our Admin area. Is the customer's original order info stored in the DB somewhere?

Having the same problem here, what I did was to add a nice little warning in the checkout_payment page, which says:

 

Please select the preferred payment method to use on this order.

When paying with Paypal, please be sure to completely finish the process on the Paypal site until you are brought back to this site!!!

 

It's not perfect, but it gets the job done, more or less... Just need to add a little text in the catalog/includes/languages/english/checkout_payment.php file. To be exact, you'd need to add

<br><font color="red">When paying with Paypal, please be sure to completely finish the process on the Paypal site until you are brought back to this site!!!</font>

 

or something along those lines.
