dcc Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 In a nutshell, online store is slow as molasses. Read a few afew threads in the oscommerce forum and enabled the cache, added the tmp directory, optimised the database and finally disabled the category count. Now site loading is tolerable. However, what I don't understand is when I disabled the category count. The count is still on the main page but is removed from any other pages. Also on the other pages it shows up randomly???? Any clues to why??? Thanks
Guest Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 If you have set it to false in admin side of store admin->configuration->my store->show category counts it should not show anymore The_Bear
dcc Posted July 15, 2004 Author Posted July 15, 2004 Thanks for the reply except the category count dos not appear in the "admin". I had to manully disable it in the includes/application_top.php where I set it to false. Like I said , the count does only appears on the main page. On any other page it has been removed but randomly appears??????? I still don't get it. If it is set to false then why does it still show on the main page only?????
dcc Posted July 16, 2004 Author Posted July 16, 2004 This is so weird. Now the main page page is doing the random show/ no show. I have picked at the code and can't understand why it is displaying randomly. I went as far as cleaning my internet cache and still the same thing. Yikes!!! Could this be an X-Files thingy???
Rob123 Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 My suggestion is that you should clear your cache. admin->tools->cache control Click the "recycle button" for Categories box HTH Robert
