Trying to move site to Linux box

I've gotten to the point that I need to move the site I've been working on to the webserver.

 

I was able to upload everything, create the database, and change the configure files (both of them) to the right settings.

 

First error I got was unable to connect to database. Fixed that.

 

Now it's just taking a very long time for it to pull up. I've waited over a minute and it just shows the page title and loads very slowly.

I went to the admin part and the first page pulled up, but anything after that takes a long time to load also.

 

I don't have a large database. The only thing I could think of was the cookies. I changed the cookie domain to the domain I needed, then I just left it out. Same thing, no change.

 

What else do I need to look at?

Thanks for the suggestion, but it still didn't work after that.

 

I just used the original copy that I had kept (thankfully) and uploaded that with only the register_globals contribution.

 

Then I just replaced every file except the configure files, and set the permissions that I needed to for the other files and folders.

 

Kind of a long way around it I guess, but it works now :)
