help with spiders

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am trying to figure out why one of the spiders is able to get a session id. It is consuming my bandwidth because is places items in shopping cart. The ip is, dns name is shpcrw1007.search.sc5.yahoo.com and the entries in the log files say :

YahooSeeker/1.2 (compatible; Mozilla 4.0; MSIE 5.5; yahooseeker at yahoo-inc dot com ; http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/shop/merchant/)"

can any one help? I added some entries to spiders.txt but they do not seem to be helping.

Have you tried contacting Yahoo to see if it is a legit bot? The most comprehensive list I've come across so far is HERE. It doesn't mention this bot but that doesn't really mean anything since the list is too small to be a complete listing.
