HOW Fi DANCE Reggae Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 Hello, I am trying to add a new image file to my webstore http://howfidancereggae.com/catalog/index.php. After posting the new information from my administration site I am getting this error: Error: Catalog images directory is not writeable: /home/howfidan/public_html/catalog/images/. Is there a setting that may have been changed or is there too many files posted in this folder? Rick Aiken HOW Fi DANCE Reggae www.HowFiDanceReggae.com Thanks, Rick Aiken
Guest Posted July 12, 2004 Posted July 12, 2004 you need to chmod the images folder to 777 also, per forum rules, you need to remove your web site from your signature, it only belongs in your profile, per forum rules
HOW Fi DANCE Reggae Posted July 12, 2004 Author Posted July 12, 2004 What is "Folder 777"? I am trying to add images that already stored on my PC. Thanks, Rick Aiken
digital_soul18 Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 its a setting for UNIX machines/LINUX machines to control the readability and writeability of folders and files... you need to change it if your going to upload pictures from your website Get a good FTP program, I have CORE FTP, and look around for CHMOD by right clicking on folders... you'll eventually find it (mines in 'Properties' when i right click a folder) and select "Read" and "Write" capabilities and basically anything else you can tick... somwhere it should state numbers, its usually 755 or something and it should become 777
