How to Keep Prices Upated Monthly

I'm in the process of trying to setup my ecommerce site using OsCommerce from Netfirms.

 

Another problem I have is trying to keep prices updated on about 2,000 items. I don't want to have to do this manually every month.

My distributors send me a excel spreadsheet with partno's, and prices each month.

 

How can I update my OsCommerce site, from a excel spreadsheet or another database automatically?

 

What database is used for OsCommerce, MySql?

 

Are there any utilities I can download that will do this for me?
