I am installing my first ocommerce site. Do I select Install new or select upgrade? Either one I select does not complete. If I upgrade I get the following error" Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/jesseray/public_html/catalog/install/includes/functions/database.php on line 45

"

If I select install new I get the following error

"The following error has occurred:

The configuration files do not exist, or permission levels are not set.

Please perform the following actions:

cd /home/jesseray/public_html/catalog/includes/

touch configure.php

chmod 706 configure.php

cd /home/jesseray/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/

touch configure.php

chmod 706 configure.php

If chmod 706 does not work, please try chmod 777.

If you are running this installation procedure under a Microsoft Windows environment, try renaming the existing configuration file so a new file can be created.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can complete the installation process?

PLEASE HELP!!!

I did post a question in the forum but no one has even viewed it.  Would you mind taking a look at it? Thank you so much I am so anxious to get started on configuring my site.

well when it is your first installation, you of course need to have new installation and not upgrade. what would you want to upgrade from?

and as far as i can see the problem is with your mysql database. have you made the database? with a user that has the right priviledges to do something about it.

Regards

Richard
