Hi all

I cannot upload images in either OSCommerce. I have looked everwhere and gotten all kinds of answers to problems I haven't even created yet. Please point me in the right direction.

If you visit my site. I know about the error messages at the top. I've re-installed a few times now in order to make sure it not me.

B) Thank you for looking. The image folder is set 777 right now I did try 755. As for remote, Can I link a image there? Like <img src.....> in html just without the http://? Yes I tried to upload it and unless I'm missing a config section somewhere I don't know where they are going. I have quad triple checked everything I can find on it.

Anyone is more than welcome to open a store and try it so you know what I mean.

Thanks

it looks like you may have a problem i once did. with the "/"s to either leave out or add at the beginning and/or end in the directories in the config files.

can you paste your configure.php files from includes and admin folders?

please protect your DB username and password though.

Thank you,

The base path is correct, that I'm sure of. I've protected that too.

It's a shared server, I don't know if that would have anything to do with it. What url did you try? Maybe it needs created. As for the directory access, all the directories are protected through the server, I would have to give permissions and take down the protect file.

Sorry, no it's not a free server.

OK, it's trying. I set everything to 777 in order to eliminate that possibility and then tried the image upload. Now at the top of the page it says

Warning: No file uploaded.

( I did browse and grab a image)

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Have you clean installed it? erase and start all over?

Yes i got the warning no file uploaded also.

i can see that picture but cant call just the folders. you must have directory indexes disabled.

i guess if i were you i would erase and start clean. and your admin configure is set up like your includes configure?

*scratches head* im thinking it just isnt working with your host if a clean install doesnt fix the problem at very best.

:o ill try to follow this topic. Id like to know what the problem is/was

OK. I will do that, a clean install. Just to let you know though the same thing is happening in the mall script, so most likely it's looking like the host.

I'll let ya know what happens

Thanks for looking and trying.

Well it must be the host. I have tried everything with OS. It has to be the host. BUMMER.

Thanks

way2savory and all

Ill play with it and if anything changes I will let you know. I am going to post a question to see if anyone else is on the host though.

way2savory,

Well, it turms out i is a server issue. As playing a day with OS and unsuccessful with the image upload I finally gave up and tried out some other scripts with the same result. Today, I tried a basic cgi-script and got the same result. Go figure.

The hosting company is re-setting the cgi for me and hopefully going to fix it.

I'll keep you posted.

How do you get SQL (oscommerce) to show you errors? Do you have to un-tag any specific areas?

If I could have gotten the errors OS was getting I think I would have avoided alot of this.

The error I got from cgi was "CGI open of tmpfile error". A server error

Thanks for the input Toni.

Also don't forget to password protect your admin later on. i just checked out your admin under tools. you definitely have an images folder w/ images in it! but since there are no products or categories obviously we r not seeing anything in the catalog. try uploading an image and test! if i may i can uplaod an image and youcan see what the result is!

or am i being silly!

Did you try? Did you fail? No matter! Try again. Fail again! But fail better!

I have the exact same problem, and more then likely it is NOT the host...I am a web hosting place. Are servers run oScommerce just fine. For Example the first OS sight i set up and did the same thing...no file uploaded. I jacked with the chmodd and it didnt help at all i played and played and reinstalled until i was blue in the face. It just started working one day and has ever since. But know im doing another site and i have the same problem again and have tried everything...and its been a week of workign with it. If you have figured out what was going on let me know. Im almost sure its a os problem not a server problem.
