TRying to update policy.php and getting parsing

Recommended Posts

I am trying to update my policy.php page to include the privacy text. When it mentions a line number how do we count it: with linefeeds as a line? only commands, not text? And below which was line 18 in my code?

I inserted where I was supposed to do and I get the Following error message:

Parse error: parse error in /home/virtual/site4/fst/var/www/html/oscommerce/includes/languages/english/privacy.php on line 18

This is the code from my server save, that said it was successful:

Open privacy.php in a text editor and TURN OF WRAPPING os that long lines of code do not wrap to the next line.

Then count from the top...include ALL lines in your count, including blank ones.

Some simple php editors, like ASWyn Syntaxnumber every line, so all you have to do is look for the line number.

As you are getting a parse error, it is likely you have an odd ', or a ;, or a . in the wrong place, as these generally cause most parse errors.

I would guess it is the ' in "Information We Collect and How It's Used"

It is not escaped. You need to change that to "Information We Collect and How It\'s Used"

Also, any other incidences of this occurring, or you will continue to get parse errors.
