Header Background Image? How?

Hi guys, right i been trying this for hours now literally, all i want to do is put a background image in the header so that the loging box is above it if you get me? www.4qmobiles.co.uk, the problem i seem to have is when someone goes to insert there details but its incorrect they go to the original login screen and the login box in the header suddenly vanishes, but comes back when out of the login page. i thought best thing to do is to have a full header so when the login box has vanished it wont look so plain.

 

I tried working around the stylesheet and used background-image but despite searching the forums and trying things i just cant get it to work... any ideas? heres my stylesheet (please ignore the // comments i was trying to label things up to no major success)
