cocco Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Hello, I'm new to osCommerce and have just had my host setup osCommerce on the server. Everything was working great until a few days ago the server went down. Finally they have it up again, but now when I log into the admin section of osCommerce it says, Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to MySQL server on '209.120.139.6' (111) in /home/magazine/public_html/shop/includes/functions/database.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server! Are there permission settings that need to be reset for osComm or is this an SQL issue that needs correcting by the host? Also wanted to know what's the best way of backing up osCommerce, which directories and how often do you guys do backups? Thanks, :)
1quicksi Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 try changing your configuration to conenct to "localhost" POssibly your ISP does not allow connecting from an external server anymore. knowledge base | Contributions | Search
cocco Posted July 2, 2004 Author Posted July 2, 2004 Hi 1quicksi, I don't understand, which configuration are you referring to, osCommerce or mySQL? Where do I check this? The thing is everything was working fine a few days ago where I could login to the admin and also view all the sample pages. My ISP hasn't changed. I'm thinking maybe it's some sort of problem with SQL not working right, ever since the hosting server went down. I've contacted them but am still waiting for an answer.
