gbagley Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 I would like my customers to be able to select how much insurance they feel they want to pay for. Also, they should still have the $3.85 normal priority. Anyone see this? Thanks G.B. Quote
Guest Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 wow, add 1.30 for every 50? thought the default insurance value of $99 and then after that you have to pay more? you can add a handling fee and manually force insurance, or add it as an option when they pick the product, thus they have a drop down for insurance starting at 1.30 and the second option of no do not include insurance. Guest Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 I would like my customers to be able to select how much insurance they feel they want to pay for. I've been hoping for the same. I'm sure many OSC installations have this set up, but no one has yet posted a contribution. There is this, but I can't get it to work with the USPS Methods contribution. Quote
Guest Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 I finally got insurance to work. It was a matter of plucking the relevant bits of this contrib, and inserting them into the latest version of USPS Methods. The issue with the insurance hack is that some of the variables sent to the USPS API have been changed. Quote
sandralk Posted July 3, 2004 Posted July 3, 2004 1.30 only covers up to $50. Then it's a $.90 jump to $2.20 for $50-100 and goes up $1 for every hundred after that. Quote

gbagley Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...earch,insurance I'm GLAD I saved my USPS.php file out before I attempted to install the contribution listed in this post. After installing contribution my USPS shipping options stopped working all together. I uninstalled it... copied my USPS.php back up to my server re-installed the old original USPS.php re-entered my user name and password and I'm back up! That was close. G.B. Quote
gbagley Posted July 8, 2004 Author Posted July 8, 2004 Can someone tell me how I can contact the Author: Michael May about his contribution not working? What is the proper procedure on these forums? I don't want to step on anyones toes. If anyone has gotten it to work can you please post a few more detailed instructions. Here is the INSTALLATION: I used the same user name and password that is currently working before and after the restore if you will. This package contains the following file: .\catalog\includes\modules\shipping\usps.php - Copy the files into the directories above. - Go to the Admin section select Modules -> Shipping - Uninstall any old versions - Uninstall your current USPS module - Enable the module by clicking the little green icon behind it. Enter your postoffice username & password :) G.B. Quote
