M00NB00TS Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 Hi, So i'm just in the proccess of installating osCommerce to see whether it will be appropriate for my application; - building an online food delivery portal, that allows the user to view the menus of a number of different restaurants (catagorised by cuisine), choose options relating to the food they they chosen (such as meat preparation, options, extra etc) and place the order. Has anyone attempted anything like this? - is the osCommerce data model extensible to this. I guess it may me possible using metaphors (i.e. the Manufacturer becomes the Restaurant, products become menu items etc. Any experiences or advice here? Cheers M
♥ecartz Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 I did something like with this with the Virtual Mall contribution once. That's how the Admin Access with Levels contribution came to be integrated. Hth, Matt Always back up before making changes.
Guest Posted July 16, 2004 Posted July 16, 2004 Without much thought, would it be just as good to just use stock osc with, categories as stores and sub categories as type of cuisine to choose, then have main categories in main, and use something like master products to sort the menus out. Supply more detail and perhaps people here can chew on this a bit further but doesnt sound too hard nice project. Good Luck. :D
