benfiesta Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 These two things are important for me to figure out as I'm setting up osCommerce now: 1) How do import and export the product database between osCommerce and Excel? 2) When a customer checks out I want him/her to go straight to filling out shipping and billing details. (The membership registration step is not suitable for the site I'm building. I don't mind saving some of the info from the checkout page, but I don't want customers having to register and log in.) How do I do this? Thx! Ben
Guest Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 #1 go to contribution support, find the thread on easy populate and read through it, see if it is what you can use. if you have questions on easy populate, post at the END of the thread, do not create a new one. #2 you can use purchase without account, however they get added anyway when checking out. reason? you need their name, shipping address, billing address, telephone number, email address, etc etc . so not wanting them to register and login could have detrimental effects on your bottom line (losing money). make it look professional. go to any major ecommerce store, and purchase, you will see you have to register, no ifs ands or buts.
