Guest Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Has anyone had this effect happen before: Whenever I edit a file, say 'index.php' from the Define Language heading in the admin section - when I save it and go back to it - it seems to have created about twice as much blank space between the code - after a few edits here and there I've got a file so big it takes ages to find the same code again (I'm thinking of a parallel like grains of rice on a chess board etc..!) Thanks in advance for any pointers.
Guest Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 sorry to have to bump my own thread dudes, but does anyone know why whenever I 'save' english.php (or anyother file) within the admin page that it creates masses of line breaks (white space) within the PHP code? - here's hoping - again. ;)
Guest Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Keep a copy of your files on your computer edit them and upload to your server Do not use the osC admin Define Language The_Bear
Guest Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Thanks for that Bear, apreciate your advice once again, but isn't the OScommerce admin control panel meant to be for editing then? I know the line numbers are a useful feature in WYSISYG editors, presumably hard coding/writing text info isn't to be reccomended with it then?
Guest Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 The file manager has a flaw, it corupts code. i.e it removes \ and screws up your code. I use EDIT PAD LITE with an FTP client, works fine . Regards Rolf
Guest Posted June 29, 2004 Posted June 29, 2004 Cheers, I'm gonna have a look at the lite version you mentioned - am used to dreamweaver but it's a bit of a big beast to open just for some casual php editing etc. Thanx
