The Session gets lost on Pages outside the catalog

Hi

 

After a long unsuccessful search in the contributions and in this forum I want to post my problem here:

 

I installed oscommerce as a part of a larger website. When a user enters the /catalog/index.php a session is created by osCommerce and is held up by any page within osCommerce.

 

When the user leaves the /catalog/*.* -tree i.e. by clicking the "Start"-Breadcrumb and enters back to the document-root of the server, his session is beeing lost (and his log-in, shoppingcart etc.)

 

Does anyone know a contribution or a workaround (or a solution - posting in this forum) that can be inserted into the other files of the website to keep the session of this user alive?

 

I cannot believe I'm the only one having this problem, but my search here had no results.
