  1. I have suddenly found myself unable to take any payments via PayPal on my 2.3.4 site using the PayPal app. I made some changes to the site which failed so had to ask the host to do a files and database restore to a point before I made the changes. However, I now have this annoying issue - when a customer elects to pay by PayPal he is taken to the PayPal site to login etc. The item cost only is shown (without shipping), he is then taken back to the site to confirm and pay. In doing so he is taken back to the PayPal site again - this time with shipping included. He is then taken back to the site to confirm again - and so starts an endless loop between PayPal and our confirmation page. There are no errors shown in the error log and my host assures me that no changes have been made to the server. Has anyone come across this before? Many Thanks
  2. I'm using the PayPal App 5.018 on osC 2.34 BS GOLD. I currently use 2 payments modules, Moneris for CC processing, and PayPal Express Checkout. On checkout_payment Moneris is pre-selected, with the CC input fields showing under the radio button, and then PayPal Express Checkout under that as an alternative. I'm switching from Moneris to Payments Pro (Direct Payment) via Payflow, which requires PayPal Express Checkout for PayPal payments. Everything seems to be working, but strangely the credit card input fields for Payments Pro (Direct Payment) are on checkout_confirmation, and not on checkout_payment like the Moneris module. Is there any way to move those fields to checkout_payment, and show confirmation data instead on checkout_confirmation? PayPal is suggesting I use the old version of PayPal Express Checkout (Payflow Edition) and Payment Pro (Direct Payment) from 2014... I'm not sure that's a good idea. Would it solve my problem? Thanks!
  3. Today a customer brought to my attention that if he put spaces when entering his credit card number, which many people do - a space between every 4 numbers, an error is thrown: “This transaction cannot be processed. Please enter a valid credit card number and type.” The customer figured it out but I'm guessing some people would just give up and the sale would be lost. I'm sure this is an easy fix. I just thought I would mention it because I see it as a fairly serious bug. Now that I think about it, the box where you input payment information is pretty primitive....could do with an update.

  6. I'm sorry if this is a newbie question, but I find with the Pay Pal app that an entry called "Callbackresponse" with a Pay Pal IP such as 173.0.81.65 or 173.0.81.33 ONLY seems to appear in the log when the order is unsuccessful or doesn't go through for some reason. Is that how it's meant to be? All of our successfully processed orders do not have a callbackresponse appear in the logs at all.
  7. Using PayPal App v4.039 with Oscommerce BS Gold. For the first time I've had a customer complain the shipping rates are incorrect. In my logs, I see repeated "SetExpressCheckout" actions under her name. Within this, the correct rates are shown for her order as passing across to Pay Pal. HOWEVER, each attempt of hers is followed by an entry under a Pay Pal IP address called "CallbackResponse" that lists the basics of her order and then the following response: All of these rates apply to a single item order and not her order of four items. We have a shipping promotion on, basic table rate shipping goes to 99c when you order $99 or more. She was ordering $99, she said the 99c option would flash up then go away and be replaced by the single item $7.70 rate shown above. All I know is this customer was repeatedly trying to order using her laptop, but I do not know what browser or any other details. She tried for two days straight to repeatedly order and get the 99c shipping deal before I found out and offered her a Paypal.me link to complete the transaction without further hassle to her, so I don't want to badger her for more information. Has anyone seen anything like this?
  8. This uses the hooks system and tabbed display of admin / orders implemented by the Paypal App. It adds a tab to admin / orders which lists all orders from the customer of the current order. The current order is highlighted. Clicking on one of the other orders will load it instead. Works for all orders, not just those paid by Paypal. COMPATIBILITY Compatible with the tabbed admin orders page of the Paypal App in any version of osCommerce (2.2RC2, 2.3.x). FILENAMES DEPRECATED - if your admin / orders page is not called orders.php you'll have to change the hard-coded name in the module. Not compatible with BS EDGE Hooks of 2016-10-03 (which don't cover admin). Uses tradition language defines, not Paypal App-style. INSTALLATION Just copy the 3 files to your store. No code changes and no admin install - it just works. DOWNLOAD from the addons area http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/9511 GITHUB also available in a branch on its own in a fork of gburton/Responsive-osCommerce at: https://github.com/BrockleyJohn/Responsive-osCommerce/tree/addon_customer_orders_tab
  9. In the latest Pay Pal app version, with Pay Pal standard, the "Page Style" defined does not show up and in fact even the cancel and return to (store) link uses our main Pay Pal account name rather than the store name. There's nothing wrong with the page style, as it showed correctly in PP Express - which also used our store name rather than Pay Pal account name. Is it possible there's an error in the code somewhere that these things are not showing in Pay Pal standard?
  10. Hello, wanting to install the module "Paypal App" link http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/9184 when copying the file into the shop, I discovered that there's 6 folders and 1 file named : "admin". These are the directories: : d1: paypal app-4_039/catalog/admin/ d2: paypal app-4_039/catalog/includes/hooks/admin/ d3: paypal app-4_039/catalog/includes/apps/paypal/admin/ d4: paypal app-4_039/catalog/includes/apps/paypal/hooks/admin/ d5: paypal app-4_039/catalog/includes/apps/paypal/languages/English/admin/ d6: paypal app-4_039/catalog/includes/apps/paypal/languages/English/hooks/admin/ and this file: f1: paypal app-4_039/catalog/includes/apps/paypal/languages/English/admin.php - For the first file d1, no problem, I'll just copy its contents into the admin folder of my shop (I've already renamed). - For folders until d6 d2 and f1 file: That's my question. It must rename or not? (For security measures). Thank you in advance for your help.
  11. Hi, There appears to be 2 faults in the new PayPal App (PayPal Standard) which seem to attract no interest - If the customer does not return to site, any comments added to an order (delivery instructions?) will be lost, never to be seen. I don’t know if this happens ‘live’ but in the sandbox (when ‘auto return to site’ is set), just after payment, you are invited to click ‘Return to site’ if not returned within 10 seconds. If the ‘click’ is made after a couple of seconds there seems to be 3 possible outcomes depending on the timing – normal (everything as expected), almost normal (all OK but returned to empty shopping cart), not normal (return to checkout success but updating/emails actioned twice). Either I have something badly wrong or there is another problem when using the app to make a PayPal Standard payment from a tablet/phone (doesn’t seem to happen with PC/laptop) – the customer is returned to a populated shopping cart with the message “Could not verify the PayPal transaction ......”. As far as I can tell the problem seems to be in paypal_standard.php ‘function pre_before_check’ when called from checkout process. The function uses the POST/GET vars to verify the transaction. With tablet/phone transactions the POST/GET vars don’t appear to be populated? Provided the PayPal IPN is successfully processed in standard_ipn.php the order will be correctly processed (the POST/GET vars are populated). Can anyone shed any light on this?
  12. Installed OSC 2.3.4 and added PayPal App 4.039 per instructions. Configured PayPal for Express Checkout. PayPal login screen shows line items on left, as usual. Customer logs onto PayPal and all seems to work normally, Customer is returned to my site/OSC to verify shipping and Confirm payment. Order saved and PayPal sends the email notification. But PayPal's email both to me and to customer has only total amount paid, no line items. I have applied no mods, no other add-ons Zone Rates module was installed and configured. How can I find out why OSC is not sending line items back to PayPal after customer confirms? I think customers should get confirmation not only how much they paid, but what they purchased. Jim
