osCommerce team
MrMayberry and one other reacted to osCommerce-Official for a topic
https://www.oscommerce.com/the-team Today I'm immensely proud to announce release of the latest version of osCommerce (4.09). Every release of your product is important, sure. But today's is a special one. As tomorrow, on the 24th, we will be reflecting on what a year in war means for us all, personally, and for our business. During that year my colleagues, most of whom are in Ukraine, were able to not only look after their families and close ones, but also work hard and very efficiently, creating and supporting multiple solutions for our international clients AND launching osCommerce 4 AND releasing its updates too. To me it demonstrates the power of will of my team, their perseverance, dedication, and strong faith in the great future of osCommerce!2 points -

Address book entry not retaining required street address?
mendoh and one other reacted to MrMayberry for a topic
Mendoh, So as for the company info in question #1. Please go to Admin --> Configuration (then in these three area's' make sure the fields you would like to use are set to either visible or the option that best works for you. (register, required, both) As for question 2: Please go to Admin --> Configuration --> Customer Details You can increase the allowable addresses to save per customer from 5 to whatever you desire. (If you leave it at five, even though there is no delete - you can edit 1 of the 5 address and change it to the address you desire. Furthermore the customer could email admin of site and have them deleted. Only admin in the backend can delete the address in the customer area of the admin pages. Hope this helps, and keep up the good work!2 points -
I found it! It is in Design & CMS > Translation > Search VAT and in the "TEXT_INC_VAT" key you can edit it and change "VAT" to "Tax". SOLVED! Hope this helps someone else before they pull their hair out!2 points

Thanks Andrei. My suggestion would be to write down some sort of "quick set-up guide" aside the main manual/wiki: by doing this, you would allow interested site owners to go live in a relatively short time, while at the same time creating additional interest in them, thus making them wanting to know more about the truly massive potentials and number of features that the new OSCv4 actually has to offer and eventually start digging deeper into the main manual/wiki. For instance, by starting from the original Watch theme, a quick set-up guide should enable the user to set up a fully functional website with that very same theme, however eventually replacing the existing demo products with actual products before going live with the whole shop. A properly-written quick guide should show how to add products and categories within the same original theme layout, while at the same time considering and explaining all the hidden relationships with other OSCv4 features and functions when doing that (e.g.: a new product will not show up among new products under the new products tab unless it has not only been added, but also marked as new until a given date and the maximum number of days for which a product is marked as new have been set). A properly written quick guide should also take into account all those essential operations and configurations that are absolutely mandatory for a freshly installed site to go live correctly and show how to complete them one after another in a step-by-step procedure. Some examples of essential operations and configurations would be: configuration of all the essential website information, locales, currencies, how to set up tax and shipping information properly, online payment setup, etc. Last but not least, I have tried to replicate the flushing cache issue, however, this: https://www.oscommerce.com/forums/topic/498293-a-simple-logo-change-in-the-mobile-theme-version-completely-destroys-layout-of-the-desktop-version/ totally prevented me from doing so, because my desktop theme version has gone away and I now have some sort of "hybrid" desktopmobile theme version where all the destkop buttons have disappeared.... 😭1 point

Steps to delete the items in picture.
Ken_Shea reacted to MrMayberry for a topic
Depending on version: I would look in the Admin --> Configuration --> Customer Details and search for captcha, see below: Turn these to false. As for the consent disclaimer, I am not sure that is as easy to disable. It may need to be modified in files. I will let other team members chime in on that one. Hope this helps.1 point -

Upload Product Image's
MrMayberry reacted to pandrei for a topic
Thanks for the sample image. This error may occur with PNG file with non standard EXIF under PHP >= 8.0 To fix that: open lib/common/classes/Images.php file, go to the line 848 and add @ before exif_read_data like this: $exif = @exif_read_data($image); It will be fixed in the next update (4.12) of osCommerce.1 point -

Ok I am getting reminder emails to "Help others by going to the topic and use the 'Mark as Solution’ button on the post with the best answer", but I can find no such button or link anywhere here. All I see is "Report, share or hide.", so in absence of this choice, I am commenting that this was the solution. Thanks again! - Tom1 point -

Address book entry not retaining required street address?
MrMayberry reacted to mendoh for a topic
Billy, thanks a lot, your suggestions really helped me out! All the best! Mendoh1 point -
@Ken_Shea I think that you have a user.css file in the catalog directory. If I remembered correctly, the user.css is the last read. You can add a .h1, h1{ font-size: XXpx; } where XX is the value you want. Like this you don't have to modify the original bootstrap file.1 point

That is exactly what my host customer support told me. According to them, if your host does not enforce such policy, it is not a top-notch one and the e-commerce email engine should have provisions to avoid using the customer email address as the sender. 99% the issues you are having with your "ghost emails" depend on your host enforcement of the no email relay policy...1 point

Address book entry not retaining required street address?

Hope this helps: Find your way to Admin --> Settings --> Address Formats In this screen setup each format from 1-6 for my site to look alike. Here is a picture of my format for address, please make all of them the same as different areas using each of these depending. The use of this screen is a little "buggy" but does work. Drag and Drop accordingly to the way you want it read.1 point -

If you use a currency other than Pound/Dollar/Euro then you will need to go to Admin -> Settings -> Localization -> Curruncies. This interface is simple and self explanatory. Its also very similar to V2 osCommerce. You should not have a problem adding/deleting currencies here, or setting them as Active and/or as default. Next you need to go to Admin -> Sales channels Click on the channel that you're using / configuring the currencies for. Click Edit. Scroll down to Languages & Currencies. Click Change. Make the necessary changes and click Apply. Lastly click Save at the bottom of the Sales channel page.1 point
