Defect Manager V1.0
In an attempt to try to contribute back to the community, I developed this little contribution.
This is a fairly basic, yet functional, defect tracking tool that will allow you to log defects either from your catalog site or the administration panel and also track them in administration.
While testing your site you can easily log a defect so that you can keep a log and history of all items for your site. I have included pages to add assignees, statuses, priorities, and severities so that you can configure these to your liking.
I've also added configuration options that will let you enable and disable certain features of the defect manager (i.e. turning off the defect entry form or defect link on the catalog site).
I wouldn't mind making this a bit more robust, but for now I hope someone can make some use of it!
This has been built on osCommerce 2.2-MS2.
Expand All / Collapse All
I decided that in this very lite defect manager, that it may be nice to have at least one more field!, a submitted by id.
So, this has been added in this release, as well as extending the input box for the headline of the defect form in the footer of the catalog pages.
See the bottom of the install instructions for upgrade instructions.
I decided to add the functionality of exporting defects to an excel csv file.
There is one new file in this Full Package named defects_csv.php.
There are also 2 file modifications if you have already installed the previous version. These are documented in the installation instructions.
I've also included an excel file that you can use for a template to import the csv into if you would like.
And minutes later I release a second version..
I found a mistake (may not be the last!) in the installation file that caused some invalid sorting on queries, so I've released the full package again to save any confusion.
