PC BUILDER VERSION 2.5.5 - Full Install for osCommerce 2.2ms2 (RC2a compliant - tested and confirmed in development)

The reason for this release is to consolidate all forum posts, patches and various fixes since version 2.5.4 right up until now (2008-10-19), making it much easier for first time installers to get up to speed immediately.

Estimated install time is 15 minutes.

PC BUILDER VERSION 2.5.5. - PATCHES FOR VERSION 2.5.4 TO 2.5.5 UPGRADE

These patches will bring you fully up to date with version 2.5.5 which will be released as a full install shortly after this. This will be my last contribution to this particular builder. It is still a very cool contrib but will soon be made redundant (or not as good as) by the new one I will be releasing under a totally new title - mainly because it is specifically not just a PC Builder.

So, here are the last patches if you are running version 2.5.4. and want to be up to date with 2.5.5.

If you have not installed any version of this builder yet then do not waste your time with this, and any others before it, rather use the one after this; version 2.5.5 - full install.

PC BUILDER VERSION 2.5.4 - MINOR PATCH / UPGRADE - THE LAST ONE BEFORE VERSION 3.0.0???

This patch relies on the fact that you have upgraded to 2.5.3 including all patches up to this one (excluding posts on the forum).
This patch will bring you up to version 2.5.4.

I use FCKeditor on my full (cumulative) development site and noticed that the short descriptions are preceeded with
a linefeed/carriage return. This small patch fixes carriage returns and apostrophes (amongst others) in your products
description. If your products popup list sometimes hangs then you need this patch.

Note: Just the patch instructions, no other files

Spotted an error in the upgrade instructions. This is just the fix to that - no other files.

PC BUILDER VERSION 2.5.3 - (upgrade / bugfixes)

Only apply these patches if you are up to date with version 2.5.2. Applying these patches will bring you up to version 2.5.3.

PC BUILDER VERSION 2.5.2 - (upgrade / patches)

FIX FOR DISABLED ASSEMBLY FEE PROBLEM
Up to (and including) version 2.5.1, disabling the assembly fee in admin stopped the builder from adding to cart or even
to print preview.

PRINT PREVIEW ALSO FIXED - AND NOW INCLUDES ASSEMBLY FEE (if enabled)

This is a complete 'new' installation of PC Builder Pro (or PC Pro Creator). Only attempt this installation if you do not have any version of the builder prior to this release. You may choose to overwrite an existing installation but this document does not cater for that.

PC BUILDER VERSION 2.5.1 (bugfixes/workarounds)

Straight after the release of 2.5.0 these issues were identified, some of them are genuine bugfixes, others are workarounds which you can implement while the real problem(s) get fixed.

This information has already been posted on the board - this document is just a consolidated presentation thereof.

PC BUILDER VERSION 2.5.0 (some major changes, bugfixes and corrections)

It just gets better and better. This release started out as a version 2.4.2 upgrade and was bumped up to 2.5.0 after I got caught up in some radical changes. The biggest changes will be found in the admin side - in fact it's the only noticeable change.

NEW FEATURES:
1. Builder, category and dependence Configurations all on one page.
2. Assembly fee category id now selectable in configuration (no more hard-code).
3. Ability to disable the builder frontend (nice for serious maintenance).
4. Global dependency can be turned on or off (working!).
5. Individual builder categories can be set to 'non-dependent'.
6. Builder categories no longer need to be in strict sequential order for dependency to work.
7. Builder matrix editor enhanced, (sub)category descriptions, selectable builder categories (or all) - neato!.
8. Catalog 'USE_TAX' flag honored by builder (instead of its own one - psh!).
9. Database tables 'pruned' - unneeded clutter!!
10. Cancel button in matrix editor changed to 'back' - takes you back to builder config - logical!.
11. Builder category maintenance - deleting categories now also removes product dependences.
12. Builder category maintenance - inserts, and renames now check for duplicates, etc... (better!).
13. Matrix editor - does not show builder categories that have no dependence.
14. Catalog 'LANGUAGE' id honored by builder.

PC BUILDER VERSION 2.4.1 (bugfixes/corrections)

Builder settings in admin; the header shows 2.3 BETA. This fix removes the version number altogether, and places
the language definition in the right place. The builder matrix editor is also fixed so that the product edit link
is displayed - on the RHS of the matrix - they are only for the products listed down the left side.

Changed some php code to call the filenames correctly - moving towards standard operating procedure for Osc. This may fix the PHP.INI issue with builder2.php (on some servers/hosts - see forums).

Increased the size of the components selection window (dropdown) - you can change this to whatever size you want.

NB: This is not a full package.

UPGRADE TO 2.4.0

This version of PC Builder fixes a bug in the builder front-end; when products are
selected and then deselected they still show up in the shopping cart - I've only
managed to get it working for individualy deselected components.

The main purpose for releasing this version is the addition of a dependencies matrix, which
makes defining and maintaining individual product dependencies much easier.

NB: This is not a full package !!

Installation instructions and procedure revised. Quick and simple.

Full package (includes admin fix).

This update will stop the error on the product edit page (in admin) when a new product is added.

Some minor code changes also done for changing certain variable names and functions from spanish to english.

Some heavy changes. Reinstallation suggested.

i added dependence function, it is a kind of hurry and lazy job, i used Yahoo YUI Library to make remote scripting work...
If i got more time i make it better
