First item plus Zone shipping

This contribution is an amalgamation of the 'zone_shipping_royalmail' contribution by Merlin Beedell and the 'First Item $X, Additional Items $Y Shipping' contribution by Matt Friedman.

This contribution has been produced by Stuart Lawrence stuart@russianquarter.co.uk http://www.russianquarter.co.uk, http://dreamtimebooks.co.uk 1-March-2005

This is a very simple drop-in-and-go type module to configure different zone shipping costs. By default the contribution allows you to have four zones, but that can be increased by changing the value in the code. Each zone is defined by a Comma separated list of two character ISO country codes that are part of Zone. By default the first zone is set to GB.

This shipping module lets you specify the shipping cost for the first item,
then another cost for all additional items. For example, $5 for the first
item plus $2 for each additional item. Each zone you configure has its own first item charge and additional items charge, as well as handling fee.

If your store has more than one language installed, you will have to
copy over the following language file to each language folder and do your own translations.

There is an icon provided, the Royal Mail icon from the UK. Obviously you will need to change the icon to whatever postal service you intend to use.

Good luck!

First Item plus zone mixed cart update juanxinho 12 Nov 2007

I am managing an online shop and this module helped me a lot when my client asked for different ship rates when having an additional item in the cart... nevertheless I had an issue when having a mixed cart... virtual and phisical items... the module would charge the same additional for both... so I had to modify a little firstpluszones.php and shopping_cart.php so the module wont charge shipping for the virtual items
