Capture IpAddress of submitting Product Review
Our Client had a problem with someone submitting nasty reviews on there site. They could not go legal as they could not provided details of when and the ip address of when that person submitted the bad review. We made 3 slight modifications to capture that information,
Once this modification was added the bad reviews stoped instantly.
The explanation is in the readme file. I hope someone else finds this useful.
BACKUP EVERYTHING BEFORE STARTING THIS MODIFICATION !
//**********************************Overwrite your Reviews.php in your admin folder or add the lines commented by Digital Chilli.
Overwrite Product_reviews_write.php in your shop or catalogue directory or use the lines commented by Digital Chilli.
Add the field ipaddress to the table "reviews" in your mysql database.
//**********************************The admin can then see the ipaddress in the admin section of reviews and what the reviewer has written.
The reviewer at the time of submission is also informed that there IP has been stored for legal reasons
