Release Plan

The release plan for 2.2 has been redefined by no longer making Release Candidate releases. Release Candidates are mainly released when no new features are introduced to concentrate on fixing existing bugs.

As we plan on introducing new features the further we progress to 2.2 (for example template structure, register_globals compatibility) we have decided to release Milestones instead.

Internal Issues

Nothing much happened the past week on commits as some internal issues were being addressed. Our development methods have been redefined and some issues regarding the updated coding standards are still pending.

A draft plan of Milestones of what features will appear in which releases leading to a finalized 2.2 release is currently under review, and will be made available on the support site when finalized.

This list will replace the Current Tasks section and provide a more detailed information of what the progress is to a feature and Milestone release.

Bug Reporter Update

Sections on the support site that are in need of being updated have begun last week with the Bug Reporter seeing the first set of updates.

Updates are planned for the Contributions section, the Community front page, and a replacement for the Frequently Asked Questions with a Knowledge Base system which will allow the community to keep the section up to date on the questions and issues existing on the forums.

The My Account section on the support site will also be replaced with the forum account system - though this is only currently needed for developers on the support site to update bug reports.

Busy Month

November has been an extremely successful month for osCommerce with just under 400 commits made (more than the previous 4 months combined) and yet again spiking the amount of traffic occuring on the support site.

This can be nicely seen on the following graph:

Congratulations to all!
